Granulating machines, basket extruders and spheronizers

If cylindrical granules are to be produced, the process with the granulate molding machine is used. Typically, granules with a diameter of 1 to 10 mm are produced here. In the granulate molding machine, extrusion is carried out by a counter-rotating, hollow pair of toothed rollers.

The Bextruder is used for flaky, highly porous granules with good dispersing properties. With the Bextruder, the material is pressed through a perforated die with an extrusion rotor.

The rounding of pellets is called spheronization. This method is often used after an extrusion process in which soft granules are produced.
