Compactor Roller Presses

Compress and shape

Compacting  is  the  compression  of  powder  between two counter-rotating rollers of a compactor. The powder is metered into the rollers.

Fine materials with a low bulk density are produced in many processes. Dust-free further processing or disposal is often required or desired. The primary task of compaction is to compress – i.e. to increase the bulk density of the product.

The bulk density can be increased by a factor of 1.5 to 2, in special cases even by a factor of 10.

Compaction means the compression of powder between two synchronized counter-rotating rollers. High pressure between the rollers creates adhesive forces between the product particles. If compacting is carried out with subsequent comminution, dry granulation is often used in addition to compacting. If the downstream shredding is omitted, it is briquetting.
